Product detail
- Headsails on carabiners or bolt ropes are the most efficient. They are lighter and less expensive than furling headsails. On the other hand, they require more handling, especially when being set up or stowed.
- The tri-radial cut ensures optimum distribution of loads and volumes, minimizing deformation and stress points. This prolongs the life of your sails and improves their performance.
It is suitable for a wide range of materials (laminated and woven), and it is the choice of material that will determine the final durability/performance ratio.
- Woven materials are for the most part the choice of durability. They will perform less well than laminates, with inferior volume retention, even if performance can be improved with the choice of tri-radial cutting.
- Woven materials offered by SAILONET for tri-radial cutting
We currently offer only Pro Radial fabric from DIMENSION POLYANT.
It offers an excellent quality/price/performance/durability ratio.
We can also offer customized quotations with Hydranet or Pro Hybride, which are high-performance fabrics that are especially durable, with spectra fibers that increase the sail's strength. Unfortunately, these fabrics increase the price significantly.
- Laminated materials are often the choice for performance, and therefore mostly associated with tri-radial cutting. With different layers of fibers and film used with mylar finishes protected or not by taffeta, they remain less durable than woven materials with risks of delamination in the long term (not recommended for very humid or very hot areas which accelerate demining).

PALMA TEC ULTRA BLACK FIBER / DCX white / DCX 2400
These are the three equivalents offered for Palma Tec by CHALLENGE and for the other two by DIMENSION POLYANT.
Since CHALLENGE is not the industry leader, it offers this polyester laminate in double taffeta finishes at a lower price than its competitor, playing on color design with good finish and performance.
DIMENTION POLYANT's DCX is another polyester laminate with a double taffeta finish that has been well known and recognized for many years.
DCX is available in a dark taffeta (black-brown) called DCX 2400.
